My friend and I have a secret game in which we create alternate realities that span through entire lives, past, present and future, with in-depth detail about our new identities and their interpersonal relationships.
These stories take fold in bus rides, house parties and checkout queues, either to strangers or to each other, when we feel we’ve lost hold of our own lives. During these nights we become explorers, farmhouse daughters, ladies’ men, mermaids, rock stars, old women, in love, young girls. In such worlds you can build a shelter from real life even if for a moment.
Iltatähti [2023-] is an ongoing series that is partly performative, partly documentary.
